Kauai Necklace

For those of us who grew up here, Kauai isn’t just where we’re from. She raised us. The red dirt on our feet, the smell of rain on the mountains, the ocean that taught us who we are. Wherever life takes us, part of our heart stays on this island.

Then there are those who come to visit and fall in love for the first time. They see the Na Pali cliffs or a Hanalei sunset, or feel the aloha of a stranger, and something in them changes. They go home, but they never really leave.

That’s what makes Kauai one of the most special places on earth. She belongs to everyone who loves her.

I made this necklace for all of us. Shaped by hand into the outline of our island, then hammer it so the gold catches the light the way the sun hits the water here. It hangs on a delicate 14K gold fill chain, simple enough to wear every day, and it carries a little piece of home with you wherever you go.
